The End

I’ve put this post off a lot longer than I should have: Zelda Comic is officially over.

Zelda Marathon Update

Damn, I sleep for a few hours and they’re up to $1300! The Mario Marathon people completed all three classic Zelda titles with time to spare and have thrown in a bonus playthrough of The Minish Cap. The Four48 team starts with the 3D games tonight. I probably won’t be able to check in while at work, but anyone who can should stay tuned!

Zelda Marathon Redux!

I meant to mention this sooner, but better late than never, right? Right???? The insane folks at cameron banga dot com have decided to once again tackle a console Zelda marathon for charity! To make things even more awesome than last time, they’re teaming up with insane comrades at Mario Marathon in order to cover the 2D titles as well! As I type this, they’re working their way through A Link to the Past and have already raised over $1000 for Child’s Play! Their goal is to get all the way through by Sunday night, so I hope you’ll all stop by and cheer them on. And if you’ve got any money to spare, Child’s Play is a wonderful charity that I’ve wholeheartedly endorsed for years now, so try and throw whatever you can their way.

I’m gonna head off to bed for now, but make sure you stop by their sites, and let ’em know Zelda Comic sent ya!

More Comic-Con Stuff

The main reason I’m going to Comic-Con (beyond the frakkin’ awesome toaster, of course):

7:15-8:15 Mystery Science Theater 3000 20th Anniversary Reunion– From 1988 to 1999, the long-suffering captives aboard the Satellite of Love wisecracked their way through hundreds of cinema’s problem children„those delirious B-movies of yesteryear created by twisted imaginations and, possibly, the need for a tax shelter. To celebrate the show’s 20th Anniversary, join a historic reunion of cast and crew, including creator Joel Hodgson, producer Jim Mallon and fellow writer/performers Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff,Mary Jo Pehl, Paul Chaplin, J. Elvis Weinstein, Bridget Nelson, and Bill Corbett for a Q&A panel hosted by self-professed “MST3K nerd” and comedian Patton Oswalt (The King of Queens). Room 6B

Except for the Patton Oswalt part, yay! Not that I have anything in particular against him, but that paragraph definitely gets a “one of these things is not like the other” vibe toward the end.

Almost done!!!

I promised a few folks I’d post an update soon. Including myself. Just thought I’d give you some evidence that I am indeed hard at work bringing the comic back up to… existence! If you count the little boxes in that picture up above, you’ll see that I only have one panel to go before I can start spriting the comic, which is generally the fastest part. Your patience through all my bullshit has been much appreciated!

Oh, you want some kind of ETA? Well I’m driving down to Comic-Con this Friday to buy a (Battlestar Galactica cylon) toaster, so it will definitely be finished before I leave. How do you like that? I’m making reckless promises! Go me!

My bad.

I can’t believe I let things slide again. But I’m sure you can. Things are going to change.
