The End

I’ve put this post off a lot longer than I should have: Zelda Comic is officially over.

You’re the man now, doge!

Thanks to takeru for linking these to me. Seems that the batshit insane folks (I say that with the utmost affection) at YTMND have thrown together a small collection of NES cover songs created with Windows XP error sounds. A few of them feature Zelda Comic cast members! Go check out their takes on songs from Zelda IIKid Icarus and Bubble Bobble (my favorite of the bunch). It should go without saying that these may not be safe for work, as they’re from YTMND and therefore feature endless repeating soundtracks.

I finished my comic on time again! I’ll be putting it up Sunday night, as is the norm. Man, it feels weird saying that.

Hourly Comics SaturDay

So there’s this guy named John Campbell, and last year he started the day of Hourly Comics, once a year on February 1st. The only annoying thing is, I had to work both last year and this year on that day! It’s not always easy to pull yourself away from troubleshooting kids’ computers or fixing old peoples’ iMacs so they can use Eudora again, so I missed out both times. Luckily, we came up with a solution: we’ve been holding our own hourly comic day today, and putting up our efforts on the forum. You can see the rest of my comics in the appropriate thread. It may even include me working on the next Zelda Comic, once I deem it the appropriate time to do so. I went to Target today! There were no turtles.

Samus and Peach walk into a bar…

We made it to Davis alive! No new Zelda Comic just yet, but I did make a belated submission to The Orange Belt Sprite Comic Contest. I figured it would be a good way to warm up by actually devoting a few neurons to the creative process, and I was right! I feel the creative juices flowing! Or at least trickling. Keep an eye on this site for a Monday update, we’ll see if one actually shows up or not.

“I, am, Job. I, am, Job!”

What, you need a better reason for not updating? How about the fact that I’m moving two hours away, and need to devote all my spare time to packing boxes and finding a new job? I thought that was a decent enough reason. Once I get settled in the new place, I fully intend to get back to comic-related activities, but I’m gonna have to place a higher priority on the move for now. I’ll let you know how it all goes once it’s all said and done. Have you checked out the forums? They’re a great place to talk to fellow comic fans about all sorts of things, like, say, Snakes on a Plane! AND NOTHING ELSE.

Wiki-scratch that

So much for that whole Wikipedia idea. Apparently Zelda Comic isn’t notable enough for them. Maybe it’s just me, but it sure is odd using a criteria as subjective as “notability” for an encyclopedia. Doesn’t the sheer size of the Internet and the number of users on it at any given moment mean that a reasonable amount of people will find anything notable (and for that matter, non-notable)? That link gives you the option to argue for the article’s being kept, but I’m not going to push any of you to do so. It seems an awful lot like they’ve already made the decision anyway. Sigh.

The rude comments in that page were a bit unnecessary, methinks. Was it so wrong to get excited about someone finding my comic sufficiently notable to be included on a renowned site like Wikipedia?
